Evaporation

For this assignment I drew with water on plastic. As I drew the water would evaporate and I had to compensate for that by drawing quicker-- neat effect in my opinion. JD Amato 2008

Activity:
Ball up a paper towel, dip it in a bucket of water and wipe the towel across the sidewalk, making drawings, etc.  Watch and see how long it takes for the liquid to evaporate.

What happened to the water?  It evaporated. It changed from a liquid to a gas.

Do this in a sunny spot and a shady spot.  What happened?
The water evaporated quicker in the sunny spot because it is hotter and the hot air is able to take up more moisture than cooler air.  Heat speeds up evaporation.
